Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, 2 p.m.: Joyce Coleman, the genealogist at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and I will be speaking at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (at the main library, 800 Vine St. in Cincinnati) on Records of Ante-Bellum Southern Plantations and their use in African-American genealogical research. Saturday, March 1, 2014, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.: I will be giving two presentations, on using Newspapers and the U.S. Federal Census for genealogical research, at “Forget Me Not” Family History Day, which will be held at 1710 Bragg Road, Fredericksburg, VA.
